As 2024 comes to a close, it’s time to reflect on the progress made in the electric vehicle (EV) charging landscape across Australia. This year, we’ve seen tremendous growth in EV adoption, supported by the expansion of infrastructure that helps make sustainable transportation a reality for more Australians. Here’s a look at the key highlights from the past year and our exciting plans for 2025.
NSW Government Grant: A Step Forward for EV Infrastructure
One of the year’s standout moments was the NSW Government’s initiative dedicated to accelerating the development of EV charging networks. This funding has been a game-changer, enabling rapid expansion of charging stations, including our own EVX Polechargers. By targeting high-traffic locations such as highways, shopping centers, and major urban areas, the initiative has significantly improved access to reliable charging across New South Wales.
Expanding Our Network: More Chargers, Greater Convenience
In 2024, we installed a substantial number of new EVX Polechargers, making it easier than ever for drivers to find convenient charging points along the east coast of Australia. Whether it’s along busy routes or in popular destinations, our network is growing to meet the needs of Australia’s expanding EV fleet.
From cities to regional areas, our charging stations are now accessible at key locations, helping to reduce range anxiety and provide drivers with the confidence to travel further in their electric vehicles. This growth isn’t just about infrastructure; it’s about making EVs a more practical and accessible option for Australians everywhere.
Unveiling New EVX Polecharger Wrap Designs
This year, we unveiled sleek new design wraps for our EVX Polechargers at Everything Electric, showcasing a fresh look that blends functionality with style. These wraps not only enhance the chargers’ visual appeal but also reflect our commitment to innovation and sustainability as we continue to expand our network.
Trialled Our Streetlight EV Charger
This year, we partnered with Essential Energy and Wagners to trial an innovative streetlight EV charger in Port Macquarie, aiming to boost charging accessibility for regional and rural communities. The prototype connects directly to the streetlight’s power, eliminating the need for additional infrastructure and reducing environmental impact. This innovative solution offers convenient ‘top-up’ charging for locals and tourists while paving the way for councils across NSW to expand EV infrastructure more efficiently.
Expanded our Team
We were thrilled to welcome Steve Beletich as our new COO at EVX! With over 25 years of experience in energy transitions and a proven track record in driving sustainability initiatives, Steve brings a wealth of expertise to our team. Under his leadership, we’re excited to continue growing our network and shaping a cleaner, greener future.
Looking Ahead to 2025
With the rise in EV adoption expected to continue into 2025, we are gearing up for even more installations. As more Australians make the switch to electric vehicles, the need for charging infrastructure will grow, and we’re ready to meet that demand. Our focus will be on expanding further into regional areas and high-traffic routes, ensuring that drivers can access reliable charging no matter where they are.
This year has been an exciting chapter in Australia’s shift to sustainable transport, and we’re proud to have been part of that transformation. From the NSW Government’s support to our growing network of EVX Polechargers, we’ve helped make EV ownership more convenient and accessible. Looking ahead, we remain focused on expanding our reach and continuing to support the transition to a cleaner, greener future.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we build on this momentum and work toward a more sustainable Australia in 2025!
